Join us for a powerful and heartfelt Elder Teaching with Kokum Lorette Goulet (Miskinâhk Iskwew – Turtle Woman), as she shares her wisdom on Creation, balance, and the interconnection of all living things.

In this teaching, Kokum Lorette will guide us through:

For over forty years, Kokum Lorette has walked alongside Indigenous communities, carrying forward teachings rooted in love, compassion, and deep respect for our lands. Her journey began over three decades ago when she was given her traditional name and began walking the Red Road.

Born in Edmonton to a Métis mother from Calling Lake and a father from Thunder Bay, Kokum Lorette has worked with organizations such as Native Counselling Services of Alberta, Ben Calf Robe Society, Aboriginal Head Start, NiGiNan Housing Ventures, and Kokum’s non-profit organization Mâmawi Nîpawiwin – Standing Together.

This event is part of ICA’s ongoing commitment to centering Indigenous knowledge in climate action.
