The ICA team would like to give a HUGE THANK YOU to all our allies, friends, and relatives who showed up from Indigenous Peoples Day (June 21) to Anti-Canada Day (July 1) to support Indigenous Sovereignty through donations to our Sovereignty In Action Awards!
With your support, we were able to raise $5,520.54, matched by a donor to make a total of $11,040.80—which means we surpassed our goal of raising $10K towards expanding the reach and impact of our Sovereignty in Action Awards!
Guided by our goals to provide resources, amplify voices, and uplift Indigenous sovereignty and self-determination, the Sovereignty in Action Awards are an ICA initiative awarding micro grants to small, grassroots Indigenous-led groups and projects to help offset financial barriers, and honour the bravery of community members for their efforts and commitment.
