Willo Prince

Education Coordinator

Willo Prince (they/them) is Carrier Dakelh from Nak’azdli Whut’en, otherwise known as ‘the place where arrowheads fly.’ Currently, Willo lives on the lands of the W̱SÁNEĆ, Esquimalt, and Songhees Nations in so-called ‘victoria, bc.’

In July 2023, Willo started working with Indigenous Climate Action as a facilitator of the Climate Leadership Program (CLP). Through the CLP, Willo is honored to connect with Indigenous folx across Turtle Island who are committed to taking genuine climate action in their communities and beyond. In 2024, Willo then transitioned into the Education Coordinator with ICA, where they continue to amplify Indigenous voices and climate justice through the development of educational resources. 

Before stepping into the realm of Indigenous climate justice, Willo came from a background of native youth mental health care, emergency mental health response, and Indigenous food sovereignty. Through their work, Willo acknowledges the critical intersections of Indigenous rights, climate justice, food sovereignty, and mental health care as an intricate web of understanding that can collectively propel us into genuine climate action at the local, national and international levels.
