Sarah Beth Hanson

Operations Coordinator

Sarah Beth (she/her/kwe) is Anishinaabegkwe from Biigtigong Nishnaabeg, a community along the north shore of Gichi Gami (Lake Superior).

Combining her education from Queen’s University in Biology, Anishinaabe teachings, and lived experience in the child welfare system, Sarah Beth has spent her time in the climate space advocating for more meaningful inclusion of Indigenous Youth. Since 2020, she has been supporting Indigenous Youth to engage in high level spaces through organizations such as Youth4Nature, Finance Engage Sustain, Youth Climate Lab, and Leading Change. In recognition of her contributions to such organizations, in 2020 she was awarded the Corporate Knights 30 Under 30 Award and Starfish Canada 25 Under 25 Award.

When not engaging in the climate space, Sarah can be found out on the land harvesting blueberries and medicines, beading earrings, sewing skirts, and exploring her ancestral lands on a canoe.
