Courtney (They/She) identifies as an Afro-Indigenous, Ojibwe, Cree & Ethiopian queer female; in that order while occurring simultaneously. Courtney grew up on the shores of Gichigami (Lakesuperoir), and the community who calls her back is Chapleau Cree First Nation.
After her time at Queen’s University, Courtney found themself gravitating towards work that brought them back to community. Courtney is passionate about Social Justice & Equity work. She has history as a frontline worker and will be a young director on a board (FORA), advocating for the identities and lived experience to which they can speak to
In Courtney’s day to day life, you can find them with their fur child, Mino-kwe, in the bush or by large bodies of water, spending time with our non-human kin, or rewatchng comfort shows/movies (The Hobbit).
