This event is hosted by The Well, and is exclusively for Black, Indigenous and/or racialized workers in the nonprofit sector in Ontario.
The intersections of racism, ableism and other forms of oppression can truly be exhausting. For many neurodivergent people, masking is a survival tool for engaging in neurotypical societies and organizations. Masking is the artificial performance of social behaviours deemed more “socially acceptable” in a neurotypical culture, and that includes the workplace.
When thinking about organizational decent work practices, what does it mean to support workers and create more accessible conditions for folks to thrive?
Join us for an open space discussion examining the lived realities of neurodiverse folks within the nonprofit sector. This event is for folks at any stage of their neurodiversity and aims to explore all those varied experiences, and their impacts in the workplace. The focus of the discussion will be the intersection of disability and anti-racism.
The event will be a co-created space with participants and the facilitator to explore practices of care that advance decent work. Please note that this session will not be recorded, and that when you register, it is only for this particular event, not the full series. If you have any questions about the event, please contact info@theonn.ca.
