Description:
Indigenous Climate Action is excited to host a community Round Dance on Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation, in Treaty 6 Territory on Thursday, December 19, 2024. We’re excited to bring together local Indigenous communities – honoring traditions, connecting with each other, learning, & empowering knowledge for the next generation of leaders.
There will be a round dance with light refreshments to acknowledge the Winter Solstice. Strengthen networks and alliances among Indigenous communities, organization and allies
to deepen our relationships & further collaborations and skill share.
Indigenous peoples have always been activists and organizers - with this we’re hoping to offer a space for learning, visioning and visiting. The Round Dance will take place at the Chief Aranazhi School Gym to deepen our relationships with local Indigenous folks, as well as further opportunities for collaborations and skill sharing.
We encourage participants to come prepared to share ceremony, and/or games with other relatives. THIS IS A DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE space and we ask that you kindly respect this.
