About the Speaker:

Dr. Michael Loadenthal is a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Cyber Strategy and Policy, within the School of Public and International Affairs, at the University of Cincinnati. He concurrently serves as the founder and Executive Director of the Prosecution Project, tracking cases of political violence in the US courts, and a Research Team Lead with Princeton University’s Bridging Divides Initiative, which mitigates localized political violence. Dr. Loadenthal has organized with social movements on four continents and often trains researchers, journalists, and high-risk activists in the areas of digital-operational security, open-source intelligence techniques, threat modeling, and risk analysis. He has routinely served as a consultant and strategist focused on movement strategy, tactics, and defense, and has broadly-diverse experiences in a host of direct action movements. Additionally he serves as a Research Affiliate with George Mason University’s Movement Engaged Research Hub, an Associate Fellow with the Global Network on Extremism and Technology, and an Advisory Board member for the Accelerationism Research Consortium...as well as a few less-than-public advisory roles.
