Together for the Water: Support Indigenous Resilience đź’§

To say “Water is life” is to recognize a deep and fundamental truth.

Water weaves through the lands like veins carrying the pulse of Mother Earth, sustaining all living beings.  In many Indigenous traditions, water holds our stories–it carries the songs of our ancestors, the prayers of those who have come before us.

Water nourishes, heals, and connects us across generations.

But this sacred relationship with water is under threat. Lakes poisoned, rivers running dry, land defenders criminalized for protecting what should never have been at risk in the first place–these are not just stories, they are our realities. Elders speak of waters once so clean they could be drunk straight from the streams.  Now, too often, those waters carry toxins instead of life.

From World Water Day to Earth Day, we are launching a month-long campaign to defend our waters—stand with us in solidarity to protect what is sacred.

Since time immemorial, Indigenous peoples have been the stewards of these lands and waters, protecting them not just for ourselves, but for everyone.  Yet, when industries pollute rivers, dam lakes, and deplete water sources for profit, it is Indigenous communities that bear the heaviest burden.

We are not just advocating for climate solutions – we are fighting for resilience, for justice, and for the protection of what is sacred.  When we defend our waters, we are safeguarding the future of our communities, our non-human relatives, and the generations to come.

Will you stand with us?
