Healing Justice Coordinator, NDN Collective
Deadline: Rolling basis until position is filled

Reporting to the Director of People, Culture, and Belonging, the Healing Justice Coordinator will be responsible for cultivating the healing justice programming across the NDN eco-system. According to Cara Page and the Kindred Southern Healing Justice Collective, Healing Justice is a framework that identifies how we can holistically respond to and intervene on generational and continued trauma and violence.

NEWS:

Historic Indigenous rights and climate victory in Ecuador!
June 30, 2022

After 18 days of the Indigenous-led national protest and following days of dialogue between the Indigenous movement led by CONAIE and the Ecuadorian government, President Lasso has agreed to adhere to many of the Indigenous movement’s central demands - including to reform Executive Decree 151, which aimed to fast track destructive mining projects, and retract Executive Decree 95, which would have doubled oil production in Indigenous territories. This is a MAJOR climate victory and a testament to the power of Indigenous leadership on climate action.

70 Organizations and Groups Renew Pressure on Insurers to Cut Ties with the Trans Mountain Pipeline
July 14, 2022

70 Indigenous rights, climate, environmental, consumer rights, and community organizations and groups sent a letter to 22 insurers that are at risk of insuring the Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion Project and the existing Trans Mountain pipeline network. The recipients of the letter were: AIG, Apollo, Ark, Ascot Group, Beazley, Berkshire Hathaway, Brit, Canopius, CNA Hardy, Energy Insurance Limited, Hiscox, Inigo, Liberty Mutual, Lloyd’s of London, Markel, MS Amlin, Navigators, Newline Group, Sirius, Starr, Stewart Specialty Risk Underwriting, and W.R. Berkley.
