Indigenous Youth Mental Wellness Honorarium

Are you an Indigenous Youth engaged in climate justice work? Do you hold space in direct actions to protect our lands and waters? Do you organize in your community to support Land Back and assert your people's rights and sovereignty?

ICA knows this work is stressful, exhausting and mentally, emotionally and physically taxing on our well-being. If engaging in this work has had an effect on your spirit, our Indigenous Youth Mental Wellness Honorarium program may appeal to you!

We are happy to announce that we are re-launching the Indigenous Youth Mental Wellness Honorarium program to continue to support Indigenous youth engaged in climate justice and frontline direct action.

We know how important it is to support Indigenous youth in their fight for climate justice by supporting and uplifting their mental health. This program is designed to be as accessible as possible, and there are many ways this grant can be utilized. Here are some examples;

  • If you live in the city, you could use it to pay for gas or a rideshare to get out on the land

  • Help to pay for a counselling session,

  • Provide an honorarium to an elder for their teachings,

  • Pay for an art or yoga class or exercise training session

It is up to you how you would like to use this fund, as long as it contributes to your well-being and helps to sustain your participation in the important work you do.

Apply for the honorarium.

Fill out the form, send us an email with a community reference to speak to your organizing/participation in frontline direct actions and we will get back to you!
