WATCH | Decolonizing Climate Policy 2.1 Launch at COP28 Indigenous Peoples Pavilion
Climate policy is failing. Colonial approaches to policy and policymaking continue to block Indigenous peoples from taking action on issues directly impacting their lands and communities. Indigenous Climate Action (ICA) is looking at ways to address challenges in climate policy through its Decolonizing Climate Policy Project.
While on the ground at COP28 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, ICA released Part 1 of our Phase 2 report on Decolonizing Climate Policy at the Indigenous Peoples Pavilion. The event featured a diverse group of Indigenous climate leaders who dove into the concept of decolonizing climate policy and shared their perspectives on its significance in so-called Canada.
