Defend Water, Defend Life

Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt – Indigenous Peoples at UNFCCC COP27 are hosting an event, ‘Defend Water, Defend Life.’ This event will be hosted at the International Indigenous Peoples Forum on Climate Change (IIPFCC) Pavilion media zone located in Zone C on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 9:00am. This is part of the International Day of Action that calls for an end to the climate crisis and justice for those on the frontlines of climate chaos. 

This action and press event will bring awareness to the politics of water by uplifting the voices and lived experiences of Indigenous Peoples on the frontlines of water protection and climate change. As stewards of 80% of the world’s biodiversity, Indigenous Peoples hold the answers to addressing climate change and protecting our lands and waterways.
