Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt - Women and gender diverse Indigenous Peoples are the first and most impacted by extractive industries across the globe. There is an undeniable correlation between the violence against Mother Earth and the violence against Indigenous women, girls, two-spirit and gender diverse relatives. On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, international Indigenous leaders, activists, and allies will be wearing red to bring attention to the ongoing genocide and violence of Indigenous Peoples and our lands.
WHAT:
Press and Media Opportunities - Actions inside COP27 include a banner intervention at the entrance of the COP27 venue (outside front entrance security/badge scanning) beginning at 8:30 AM (GMT+2) and a larger gathering at the monolith at 3:00 PM (GMT+2) that will include speakers from Papua New Guinea, Australia, Brazil, North America, Panama, and more.
