We are pleased to announce we are now accepting applications for our Climate Leadership Program!

Do you self-identify as Indigenous?

Do you have a strong desire to create positive change in your community/organization?

Yes? Then this training is for you! We designed this program to focus on how climate change is impacting our communities and our rights and empower and uplift Indigenous peoples to become climate change leaders in their own communities.

We will cover:

  • The basics of climate science and climate change

  • Indigenous perspectives on climate change and climate action connections between climate change and the health of Indigenous communities, peoples, and nations

  • Root causes of climate change while demonstrating the integral role that Indigenous resilience has in Mother Earth’s survival

  • Legal mechanisms used to undermine Indigenous sovereignty as well legal strategies to assert rights

  • The impacts of human economic activity on Mother Earth

  • The impacts that climate change is having on life on Mother Earth

  • Climate solution projects and stories at community, national, and international scale

When?

The program will be offered online through Zoom over three days with breaks included.  We will use a variety of tools together to keep sessions engaging and fun! 

The online sessions will be held November 25-27 from 9am-1:30 pm PST /10am-2:30 pm MST / 11 am-3:30 pm CST / 12-4:30pm EST/1-5:30pm AST/1:30-6:00pm NST with breaks included.

Community Participant Subsidy and Support

We are pleased to be able to offer community participant subsidies and other support in order to remain committed to building capacity in Indigenous communities and nations while breaking down barriers for participation.

We currently offer:

  • Internet or phone subsidies

  • Childcare subsidies

  • Meal Subsidies

  • Youth (18-30) reciprocity

  • Elder (65+) reciprocity

  • Two $150 draws based on participation

  • Two $50 draws for those who fill out the evaluation form

  • Bingo prizes
